Skin

by Dr Sarah Warren

Oh that pesky itch!!

Ever had an itch that just won’t go away?

This is sometimes how our pets feel.

Does your dog frequently

  • scratch, lick or chew their paws, armpits, groin, or base of tail?
  • Rub their faces along the furniture
  • Shake their head or scratch their ears
  • Have red / watery eyes
  • Have brown stains on their fur

Does your cat frequently

  • overgroom / lick and bite their skin
  • have bald patches, often on their tummy, legs and base of their tail
  • have a rash of tiny scabs along their lower back, neck and face

If you answered YES to any of the above then it is likely that your pet has a skin allergy.

Sadly there is no cure for allergies but there are lots of things we can do to help your pet become more comfortable.

We are holding a client evening on 21st July 2026 at our Lytchett branch to provide more information on itchy skin in our furry friends and how we can help. Please call us now to book your place!
